NEW SKY Motor Graders – Built for Africa’s Infrastructure Demands
As road construction and mining projects accelerate across the continent, NEW SKY brings a full range of motor graders engineered for African working conditions.
JOHANNESBURG, July 24, 2026 – The African construction equipment market continues to expand, driven by infrastructure modernization, road rehabilitation programs, and mining operations. With Chinese construction machinery exports to Africa growing 59% year-on-year in early 2026, contractors and government agencies are increasingly seeking equipment that combines reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
NEW SKY, a trusted name in construction machinery, offers a comprehensive motor grader line-up tailored to the diverse and often challenging conditions found across the continent – from the heat of the Sahel to the highlands of East Africa.
Three Models, One Standard of Quality
The NK200 is the flagship model, powered by an SDEC C6121 diesel engine delivering 162 kW at 2,200 r/min. It features a ZF 6WG200 transmission with electro-hydraulic control and power shift, providing smooth and responsive operation. With a maximum draw pull of 110 kN and operating weight of 16,500 kg, the NK200 handles heavy grading tasks with ease. The 3,962 mm (13 ft) blade offers a maximum cutting depth of 495 mm and circle rotation of 360°.
The NK190 delivers proven performance with an SDEC engine producing 162 kW and a maximum draw pull of 103 kN. It is equipped with the Hang Chi (Advance) 6WG180 transmission, offering 6 forward and 3 backward gears with electro-hydraulic control. Operating at 15,500 kg, the NK190 provides a 3,962 mm blade with 495 mm cutting depth, making it ideal for road construction and maintenance applications.
The NK150 is powered by a Wei Chai Deutz engine rated at 115 kW, with a maximum draw pull of 82 kN and operating weight of 13,000 kg. It features the Hang Chi (Advance) YD 13 transmission with 6 forward and 3 backward gears. The 3,350 mm (11 ft) blade provides 495 mm cutting depth and 360° circle rotation, offering an efficient solution for lighter grading applications.
Designed for the African Worksite
All NEW SKY motor graders share key features that address the specific demands of African operations:
Operator Comfort and Safety – Each model comes with a completely sealed, low-noise ROPS/FOPS cabin with standard configuration of environment-friendly hot and cool air conditioning and an MP3 player. In Africa’s remote construction sites, where operators work long hours in extreme heat, a comfortable cabin environment is essential for productivity and safety.
Precision and Control – The open-type hydraulic system with adjustable blade control ensures accurate grading. The single-lever joystick allows operators to control speed swiftly and sensitively – a critical feature for achieving the precision required in road leveling, ditching, and slope scraping.
Durability and Traction – The machine frame features a completely sealed box-structure capable of accommodating various working devices. The high-load "NO-SPIN" anti-slipping differential with automatic locking and releasing function provides superior traction on uneven terrain and poorly prepared subgrades.
Braking and Steering – The NK200 is equipped with REXROTH (Germany) fully-hydraulic braking system. All models feature a maximum front wheel steering angle of 45° and maximum hinged steering angle of 20°, ensuring maneuverability in tight construction sites and mining environments.
Built for the Long Haul
Africa’s construction sites demand machines built to last with minimal breakdowns. NEW SKY motor graders are manufactured with reinforced frames and dust-proof cab environments for long-term use in tough conditions.
With operating weights ranging from 13,000 kg to 16,500 kg and blade lengths from 3,350 mm to 3,962 mm, the NEW SKY line-up provides African contractors, mining operators, and government agencies with a range of options to match specific project requirements – from rural road maintenance to major highway construction and mining haul road grading.
